The output is the&nbsp;<em>Home Price Expectation Survey.&nbsp;<\/em>In the latest release, it forecasts home prices will continue appreciating over the next five years (<em>see graph below<\/em>):<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/files.mykcm.com\/2022\/07\/12140314\/20220713-MEM-Eng-1.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/files.mykcm.com\/2022\/07\/12140314\/20220713-MEM-Eng-1.png\" alt=\"Should I Buy a Home Right Now? | MyKCM\" class=\"wp-image-103393\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>As the graph shows, the rate of appreciation will moderate over the next few years as the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mykcm.com\/2022\/06\/14\/is-the-housing-market-correcting\/\">market shifts<\/a>&nbsp;away from the unsustainable pace it saw during the pandemic. After this year, experts project home price appreciation will continue, but at levels that are more typical for the market.&nbsp;As Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist at the&nbsp;<em>National Association of Realtors<\/em>&nbsp;(NAR),&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketplace.org\/2022\/05\/18\/signs-that-red-hot-housing-market-may-be-cooling-down\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">says<\/a>:<em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cPeople should not anticipate another double-digit price appreciation.
